Windows 7 together with Vista Live Messenger Notification

Hiding the Windows Live Messenger Icon.

For Win 7 users might find Live Messenger is annoying especially when you click “X” button, you may prefer to keep Windows Live Messenger in the system tray where it’s been for previous releases. If so, you can fool the application into the old style of behavior.

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\ and set the properties of msnmsgr.exe to Vista compatibility mode
